If a person has a sincere faith in God, but is not sure that Jesus is the son of God as in immaculate conception, or is a Jew or other and a basic good samaritan, are they not reconciled with God, and if not, why not? I have often wondered this because, for instance, some very spiritual people such as Ghandi acknowledged Jesus in a positive light and were positive people effecting positive change. I just can't picture people going to Hell because they don't accept Christ as saviour of the world, while others that are mean spirited but believe in Christ as the son of God of the Virgin birth etc. are reassured of eternal life.
And then what is eternal? I know we don't have all the answers, but you seem to be well read and I like your sense of balance and want to know your opinions on this based on your gut feeling and your knowlege. Thanks.
