My kids got some Yugyo cards by accident, we didn't know what they were, but when we opened the pack, Wow! like you say actual red-eyed, evil demons on them. Whereas Pokemon cards have all these little creatures that are mostly take-offs on real animals like hamsters, lobsters, fish, etc. My kids love playing the Pokemon Nintendo games as well, and they're very sweet kids, well-adjusted, etc. No Pokemon disorders. :c)
