Yes I agree with you there Oldtimer, that being polite and openminded is what counts. And perhaps i was just reflecting from my own personal experience. In all my years as a fervent Christian, i would not ALLOW myself to consider the merits of something that was contrary. That way of (not) thinking got ingrained while in the cult, but it transitoned very smoothly into the post cult born again Christian churches and people that I was/am acquainted with. Along with the 'I know i'm right you'll figure it out in the afterlife but it will be too late' superiority, some subtle, some not so. It grates. Anyways i do realize i'm ranting a bit, and this is not my impression of all Christians, likely more a mix of my personal experiences that get set off when i read stuff i perceive as judgemental.
