Yes, I agree that it's hardly surprising that many posters at MovingOn are angry at religion and have a right to vent that anger in the kind of sarcastic lampoon of "Christianity" that we see above. Taken in that context the post has a lot of validity.
They suffered under a twisted caricature of what Christianity should be, so the points really kind of describe the bigoted anti-intellectual mileau of the Family. In fact, it's mild compared to how the Family beliefs should be stuck on a stick in the sand. But while it describes SOME Christians outside the Family, it describes very few that I have personally met.
I take your point about that athiest being a "spiritual" person too. Sort of like the good Samaritan.
