As I said the other day, the only spanking I remember is when my mom broke the plastic ruler on my hard fanny and we both laughed. I know I got the belt from my dad, but I don't remember it or any of the things it was for. I can agree that the method of spanking or beating that we administered in TF was awful, and I feel awful that I followed TF mentallity of that with my son, it was down right horrible. One horrible things about though is that one could say it was a law and method of discipline for our children. I don't think it is so cut and dry though, that there should be laws to ban spanking as long as it's spanking and not beating or doing physical harm. If one is honestly to think about how far our societ has drifted now and how disrespectful children now are of authority IMO it could be caused by a lack of discipline. I've heard modern parents say I can't spank my child he might think I don't love him. Inever felt my folks didn't love me. I did hear something on the news last week or something, that there was a survey of some number of CEOs and that some of their sucess was due to the discipline they received when they were young through spankings. They said it made them beter able to deal with the rigors of the world we live in or something like that. It was just a piece I heard on the radio. To say one size fits all is not correct. Parents should deal with their children in love, whether it is spanking or not spanking and should be allowed to deal with their children in love, without having to be concerened with the spanking police.
