As an exer...my biggest stumbling block was all the doom and gloom preached in the COG, the obsession with sin. My belief today is Jesus died for our sins one time, He saves us one time, and if we continue to sin, He forgives us by His grace not by our works. We are human and we do things that are unloving sometimes, but now when we follow His teachings, we feel remorse and admit our shortcomings to Him in prayer. We forgive ourselves, God forgives us and we forgive others who have hurt us. That is how we stay on the path. Bringing His kingdom down here, bringing His joy to others, letting go of resentments and keeping our side of the fence clean, one day at a time! People get overwhelmed with theology and what is correct! We need to keep it simple....love God and love one another! The whole world would be healed if everyone did these two things.
