Seems like Berg started with turning out women (prostitution) and then went for making the pedophilia public. I could not stomach that one either. The prostitution was hard enough, but when letters about considering children adults at the age of 12 and sending them to schools came out, that is about the time I left. Prior to that I had been on a far flung field without proper clearance, so I was not getting any lit or fellowship, just travelling with the person I went with. So when I came back, I got hit with a lot of shite at once, including the push to India. I got out because I could not take another second of it and I was afraid for my children. I was still fearful that God was that twisted monster who became pimp and pedophile. What horrors. That is why I can't reconcile that even with all the changes, TF is still "inspired" by Karen Zerby who incested and was in on the molestation of her son and others. She will never take responsibility for that. Because of that, I can't respect or find validity in TFI. I would agree that many of the nightmare letters were very much like what Berg instituted, whether "The Green Door" or "The School" or others.
I can't say that my faith came out intact. It did not. I just can't separate religion and abuse.
