Farmer, I appreciate your point of view but I have a different take. You assume that: "it was never intended that way (funds set aside/pensions)". I say assume because I don't ever remember anybody saying anything about it. I do remember Berg insinuating it and saying things like "The Lord will come soon", and "let's put our faith in Him", or "He will take care of us", etc.
All of those statements were part of the con.
I assume something else, that as they kept money handy in their "flee bag", they were also setting aside funds for the long term. They didn't say anything about this (the flee bag thing, yes) but any reasonable person can see the evidence of their greedy hearts and also asume that they were doing something for their own future.
People like us, far from leadership, were on our own but we didn't know.
