Yes, it was more complicated than that. We were frogs on the heating pan but woke up at some point due who God knows what!

And choices are not all black and white, many stayed in the gray area. The surrender of will was gradual. Not everybody was "sold-out", many lived and stayed in the fringes of the cult for years and maybe still are.

Choice was not always there but I accepted "new wine" blindly based on my initial surrender of will. Choice was absent for me for many years but at some point I started accepting that some behaviors were questionable. I got to the point where I started doubting the doctrine of not doubting. I realized that John 8:28 was real, that it was for me also, and that in the end I was going to be responsible of my own path and own destiny.

At some point, I starting recognizing some "new wine" as poisoned tares of the enemy and it was then when I knew the correct choice for me was to leave.

People joined the family for many reasons and those reasons drove their choices afterwards. I joined to know the truth, then I choose to serve the Lord. Finally, the choice was clear and I choose to continue serving the Lord instead of a false prophet.
