Thank you for the explanation. It does make sense but I was a little shock by the similarity with TF.
In general, I have wondered if Berg was able to "see his future" when he started. In other words, was he sincere and starting a genuine Christian ministry, or just putting together a group of naive young people?
Let's not forget that he was also deceiving outsiders for whom we were the hippies who needed to be saved, helped and supported. He used us to get to them.
If he was sincere in the early days, then his corruption came gradually afterwards. I am not sure that this was the case because a lot of his perverse sexual views were already quite developed because he taught them to those "charismatic" leaders.
Yes, we were naive and unprepared to see through all their garbage but at some point we did. It seems a lot like a testimony to the "love for the truth" that 2 Thes 2:10 talks about.
