Ok I am German...but I don't think I am that sensitive...what bugs me though is, that Germany gets the blame for both WW1 and WW 2....really discerning nothing at all...next what bugs me nowadays is e.g. that the Greeks had very lousy politicians in the past and lived economically not very "innovative"...and now when they are in the s.it...they blame it on the Germans...pasting the swastika-sign (by the way rather Indian...and still used there today...without any "bad" connotation)...all over their protest-banners and even at the German embassies...

I am all for paying for your sins...but I began to wonder already times back ...are only Germans to pay for their sins?...constantly reminded of the past

You don't live in Germany...I suppose...if you ever did for a while, you would understand how powerful the opinion of the central council of the Jews is here...any public figure saying something "outrageous"...sometimes
hardly ever anything worth mentioning...and the alarm-bells go off.Post TF...I am rather on the Jewish side again...but sometimes they are so oversensitive, it's pitiful...I could give you some examples for correcting German catholic bishops/cardinal...who used some terminology offensive to them and may be not very smart to use it, knowing their reactions...one is about art...the Nazis called some modern art something like "disarted art"...using that now for some IMO also pretty crazy art is outrageous to them...same for liking the amount of abortions to some kind of holocaust and so on...lately I haven't heard too much of the council...objections

Just to say...(and by the way I was for 6 weeks in Israel...working in a kibbuz...and "my first girlfriend"...was an Israeli female soldier)...we Germans had to watch our steps...and it's strange to me ...that other nations do not get a "similar" correction...as if war-crimes haven't happened elsewhere...

Like I said, I am all for good old OT punishments...amendments...but for some strange reason, some get away as declaring their wars as "righteous"...and on top of it, history is full of conquering wars...I don't see much in terms of amendments being made afterwards???

Great are the efforts they made in south-Africa dealing with the Apartheid-problem and related crimes
