Your comment about handed-ness actually underscores my point. Yes, a person can become right handed if they are left handed, but it is not without negative side effects or discomfort. As a left handed person, I remember trying to be right handed as my father was left handed by nature but forced (brutally) in school to become right handed. He did not want that forced upon me. It was believed in his youth, that left handedness was an indicator that a person was "bad" and the orientation had to be changed and the bible was widely used to justify this doctrine. Children were slapped and beaten if caught writing or eating left handed. It is a minority orientation, but it can really screw a person up to change what is natural for them.
There are some people that are ambidextrous- can use both hands to write with ease. I guess that would be like being bisexual. They could go either way and be true to their nature.
As far as the military goes, some of the most brilliant military leaders of history were homosexual. Alexander the Great comes to mind-- so sexuality should not stand in the way of a person's ability to live up to the full extent of their ability and vocational desire.
About "curly whirly hair", that sounds kind of racist to me though I don't believe you intended that. Yes, fashion can mean altering appearance with hair cut or type, color, make up and so on. But that does not have to do with natural orientation and neither is it harmful to alter appearance unless a person believes what is natural for their race is "ugly", due to destructive cultural views.
