IMO Wikipedia is useful for many things, in particular and mostly – as you say – non debatable and observable facts, things which have little bearing on other important events and topics. But many issues, also scientific, are often heavily coloured one way or another.
Often, if you read the discussion part you will see the main article is far from agreed upon.
Overall, with Wikipedia as well as any other encyclopedia, with key issues, and topics that in smaller or greater degree will depend on worldview, with these it is a good thing to reasearch the matter more deeply. You will probably find that more topics than first thought must be slanted with a certain worldview to be accepted into Wikipedia.
