Judicially it's about the age of consent laws regarding consensual sex. In Germany the law sets the age at 14 "as long as a person over the age of 21 does not exploit a 14–15 year-old person's lack of capacity for sexual self-determination". I found that to be a shocker but an even bigger shocker for me when I looked it up is Spain where it's 13 with the stipulation "if deceit is used in gaining the consent of a minor under 16 years an individual can be charged".
In the U.S. depending on the State the laws vary between 16-18. Usually each State has very defined "close in age" exceptions, as well as person of authority interdictions etc.
By the way, I think you probably wanted to post your comment on this on GenX but misplaced it here, or if not, what's the reason it's a Journeys post? ...just curious.
