Generally people over 21 can have sex with 14-year-olds unless they abuse the younger partner's "lack of capacity for sexual self-determination" or are in position of power over them.

The district court in Koblenz overruled a 2010 conviction of sexual abuse of a ward – and lifted the accompanying two-year suspended sentenced handed down by other, lower courts, because the judges decided the man was not her teacher.

The 32-year-old man had only taught the girl’s class a few times as a substitute teacher, which the court decided was not enough to classify her as his ward.

Fact for me is, he exploited his position of "authority"...to get closer to her...being the regular teacher or not...being married and 32 ...I mean what nonsense of the law to allow for such "interpretations"...I understand, that at rarer times a "shy" 32 year old might meet the love of his life of 14 years old and they lived happily together ever after...just some irony here.Law/jurisdiction wants to make some allowances for "progressing Society"...on the other hand it used to be common for girls marrying earlier...but we speak then of marriage, not exploiting a young girls "budding" sentiments...that's the way it reads for me here.

In past decades/other laws...I wonder, if the guy could have been condemned...since he is married.

It does talk about the age of consent in some of the fine comments to the article and it does mention Spain

...what consent though...to what?...just sex??...For what future...the guy is married...so the consent-angle is really a "narrow" one....It looks to me as if people want to say...we agree on having "fun" together"...irregardless of any consequences...and I think a 14 yr. has not the possibility to overlook all these angles/aspects of life...possible pregnancy...another "competing" mate..."divorce"...plus having to focus on the scholastical point of life.

Hope, that at least he looses his job if nothing else...fume...

You're right...the article kind of belongs to GenX, but I got my feathers a bit ruffled the past month over there and my inclination to post there or in general really hit a low...so this is not really standard...good procedure...but then I think...what the heck...at least here I can talk about faith all I want...should I wish to comment about it from that angle...and this posting back and forth is a bit of a "clownery"...may be with the balm of time I post things on GenX...where they belong.
