A friend of mine told me once that his "theology does not include a God that answers prayer and talks to people". He said that to me because my theology was obviously to him one where God is an active player. At least in this point you and I have the same understanding of God.

The different theologies that people build for themselves doesn't really affect who God is. I read your description, and I see that many of the things you mention are real but I also see how at the center of all of them you have placed yourself. A thought exercise of replacing every "me" for "everybody" will show that your statements are weak.

Picking a random sentence, for instance: "God made me think I was going to have an opportunity to be me at my best, but chose to leave me with nothing but the option of a dead-end job." When you change the word "me" for "everybody" the sentence doesn't make sense and it not universally true.

So, God must be doing all of those things to you directly and specifically. Maybe, in the example above, the dead-end job was for some particular reason.

And this is when theology comes in, maybe your theology should also examine the possibility of a God that has a plan for you beyond the immediacy of daily life.

I am old enough to have seen that God has never left out the righteous and the faithful. I have seen miracles and blessings. I am sure that if you try, you will also be able to see some miracles in your life. Maybe having written here is part of a miracle. Expect a miracle with a grateful heart and you'll see a miracle. It might not be the one you expected but God is full of miracles. That, I can guarantee it.
