I'm out, have been so longer than I have been in. I am not that affected by my time in because those days are far behind me. I teach fine arts at one of the top universities in the country, I don't normally associate with people who've been in. My mother left early on, my father only recently. I managed to avoid getting raped or sexualized because I used to have a chronic illness that I used as an excuse until I escaped. I am really only triggered by people giving orders. Believe it or not I have no big triggers about God, my understanding is vastly expanded from what I grew up with. I am triggered by the negativity in religion, anything that puts people down to elevate God. Any god who needs to put people down isn't much of a god at all. Christianity teaches many good things but at the heart it is all about sin, forgiveness or else eternal damnation. Christians normally relate to everyone starting from that assumption.
