Thanks you for your post. I am glad to be of service, it's the least I can do, given my experiences in the cult. I've also learned a lot from providing the site and interacting with people. It's very much like you say, that sometimes we can't see the whole picture of how bad it really is, until we talk to others.
If I had a quote-of-the-day feature on this site, I'd take this from your post: "They told wonderful stories to manipulate our naiveté and idealism. Our good intentions got trapped in their lies, and helped them create a web of deceit and pain."
Yes, it's easy to beat ourselves up over everything that happened, but we should also credit ourselves with waking up and doing something about it, if nothing else, just speaking up and sharing information on this site so that's it's out there permanently, for all to see. I remember how Gary Montgomery was freaking out and trying so hard to shut us down when we launched this site, because he knew it would be the beginning of the end for them.
Yes, we lived to tell the story, and the best revenge we can have on all the damage they've done, is to live well, and to keep telling the true story of TFI, not the fairy tale and rewritten censored history they are disseminating.
I think we'll all be here for a while, keeping it real. And those born into the cult will also be around to keep it real.
