I want to wholeheartedly thank the person who is mainly responsible for this site. I also want to extend my gratefulness to those behind the scenes, who have labored to create and maintain exfamily.org functioning. The coordinators, as we know them, have walked the middle ground of an unbiased referee to maintain the integrity of the information in this site. Praises have not been absent and one or another version of these same words have been expressed a few times but I wanted to say them one more time.

The reason is that we don’t appreciate or thank people enough. Our self-centered lives take many things for granted, and we use them without much thinking, out of habit. I wanted to remedy this for my part.

But there is also another reason, time flies and we are all getting old and, for most people, death is the result of old age. We are getting closer to that corner and some of us are closer than others, me in that group. I will one day just simply disappear and nobody will know because most of us are isolated from each other. The only way we have some contact is anonymously through this site.

So at this point on my journey I wanted to make sure I thank all of you who have helped me on my walk during these last few years. Without this site, the people, the some time heated discussions, and the information that has been shared by many anonymous participants I would not have been able to get a clear picture of the type of group The Family International really is, and the damage they have imparted on so many, including each one of us.

Greed, sex and intentional abuse were at the core of their deeds, they told wonderful stories to manipulate our naiveté and idealism. Our good intentions got trapped in their lies, and helped them create a web of deceit and pain. By the time we woke up, the damage to the world and to ourselves was done. I do take responsibility for my stupidity but I also take credit for having woken up and walked away.

We were stupefied followers and, while living with the consequences, we have actively looked for redemption and improvement, as much as possible. Others, still blindly tied up to the net of lies, continue deceiving others and themselves.

In this Passover week, and speaking for myself, my reflection on that part of my life is that cutting my ties from the Children of God, AKA The Family International, the organized crime group, was like what the Hebrews in Egypt and the cruel Pharaoh.

I walked away from the abundance of that Egypt and into the wilderness without knowing where I was going. The real Moses led me and the Angel of the Lord protected me. I know I did everything I could to make sure that my children will be better than me. What better Promised Land than that on this life?

I looked into the future trembling, concerned and a little afraid but I lived to tell the story. We all did and are still telling the story. TFI wants to change that story, its history, to make it sound like none of the accusations against them was true, that Berg was a man of God, that he was not an abuser of men, women and children, that he was a child molester, a pederast, a liar, a drunken criminal who raped his two daughters.

But this site has steadfastly showed the story as it was. They may try to clean their face by paying academics and fiction writers to put forth confusing books and invented stories, but the truth has been told, and it is in this site.

Thank you Coordinators.
