Thank you for sharing with me. The consensus is that fear drives us toward the extreme. I'm still not so sure about that yet, but I will sleep on it.
What I am getting from you, Thinker and Friend of Bill (what a cool nick!) is that it has a lot to do with how to be comfortable with God and self. I think there might be something to all that. Apart from Thinker's practical suggestion I'm just not sure how to take the extremes out of religion.
