Wery well if “nothing detracts from the good news of eternal life in Christ.” I have no problem with that.

I very much agree with you on this: “Things like visions or anything we perceive as a supernatural manifestation are secondary side effects to be viewed with much suspicion, most especially when agape is not present.”

But I do not find basis in the scripture to support the idea that we all will meet Jesus fact to face the moment we die. With such a belief, the next step is likely that as dead we will be sent back as ghosts so TF people (and others embracing similar tenets) can converse with the dead, and act out their imaginary spiritist seances in order to feel important.

Although some saints were raised at the point of Jesus’ death, and some patriarchs (like Moses and Elijah) may have been taken up instantly, according to the scriptures we are to be raised when we meet Christ at judgment day ‘at the last day’ i.e. at His 2nd coming, therefore there is no speaking to the dead. Berg repeatedly went to seers / spiritist mediums for his inspiration and to boost his ego trip, and in my opinion, if he did, ex-members certainly should not do it lightly.
Such practise is superstitious, and how do we know what or who these TFI spiritists contact…we only have their word for it, that they speak to all these dead celebrities, if you trust them. I am sorry but I don’t. See John 6:39, John 6:40, John 6:44, John 6:54, John 7:37, John 11:24, John 12:48)
One TFI favourite spiritist website:

(Forgive me if I got ahead of myself here…I don’t know at all if you embrace these doctrines about the dead, I just wanted to mention it.)
