When you point to the forefathers as a role model for today, I can't see it. I can't see a return to "morals" where a slave girl could be raped and impregnated and where women were viewed as property. I can't use "he that is without sin, let him cast the first stone" to excuse behavior some of which was taboo or considered poor form, even back then. I don't view the forefather days as some sort of innocent good ole days to get back to.
