Information on Donating to Love’s Bridge

Posted by on September 15, 2003 at 04:36:31

LB already received pre-approval of 501(c)3 status in June 2003. This means donations to LB are already tax deductible for US residents and residents of countries who have applicable tax treaties with the US. Checks or money orders can be mailed to the following address:

LB 10550 SW Allen Blvd. Suite 100, Beaverton, OR 97005 USA

We wrote our regular donors in July 2003 asking them to start sending donations to this address. The six month period between July 2003 and January 2004 (when we will close our account with the FCF) is meant to allow donors time to make the switch (sometimes it takes several reminders) and allow us time to find a cost effective way to receive donations online.

My guess is that most of you are concerned about what exactly your donations will be used for. Please see the FAQ section on our web site (www.lovesbridge.com/8_faq_en_frame.htm) for a breakdown of the project's monthly budget. You will notice we have no office expenses in the US: no office rent, and no salaries! The only US expenses are receipts mailed to donors, costing about 45 cents per envelope including envelope, paper and postage. Also, 1% is charged in bank transfer fees to get the funds to . Other than this, every cent is used directly for the care and rehabilitation of 's street children. I don't know of any charity organization that is more cost effective than this one.

You can also designate your donation for a specific purpose if you like, and it will be used as designated. Some donors sponsor individual children by donating $90 per month.
We will gladly send donors an expense breakdown for any given month since January 2002. Please direct any questions to .
