Well, I take that as a real compliment, coming from you. I think perhaps the need to laugh hides the deeper desire to weep over the horrors that we have experienced and been party to. It is perhaps the only way to cope, sort of like 'Life is Beautiful.'
(But getting back to the hero role, just think, if I looked even half as hot as Enrique in the music video, and you were the girl...Do we want to go there? COULD I be your hero??? A compelling question!)

Ever read 'Man's Search for Meaning -- Victor Frankl, or 'the Sunflower -- Simon Wiesenthal? I'd be interested to hear your take on them.
