They suffer more in adulthood than in childhood, because in childhood they do not process pain and suffering the same way adults do. Plus, as children they do not understand the implications and the wrongdoings. Once they are mature enough to understand, it hits them pretty hard. Then there is the issue of repressed memories, etc.

I do believe whole-heartedly that this environment and the teachings of Berg let loose a lot of closet pedophiles and creeps who were happy to oblige or let their deranged minds and lusts run free. And the bad thing is the F. does not bring them to justice, just kicking them out is not good enough. Plus, if they "repent" they send them to another home and around more children, that's what the Catholic church is in trouble for now, so how are they any better?
