Do you think there's a difference between coming clean for yourself, when you realize you've followed someone or a group that led you astray; and coming clean not only for yourself but acknowleging all the damage you've done and the sins/crimes you've perpetrated through making a whole group of people trust you with intimate details their lives?

It seems that you make Marina's "coming clean" (recovery from a cult) the same as (your hope of) Maria's "coming clean" (realizing that she's led 1000s astray and putting a stop to the madness).
Or are we talking the same thing here?
