If you visit a bookstore, take a look at a book called
The Bush Dyslexicon
by Mark Crispin Miller
It is a very good analysis of how a certain rhetoric works and reaches a wide audience. Examples are poignant. Also, the pseudo-christian appeal is examined and deconstructed for the empty shell it is: another propaganda tool. Aside from this, it is funny, literary, and yes, "enlightening."
