I take the bus and have been on the route out of Texas to Minnesota many times. The bus stations have police, and secret agents as well, and the luggage has never been a problem.

I told my boy on the way down to Tecas from Minnesota last winter that satying close to me was important, cause there are creeps and sure enough, while in Dallas, ny boy was approached by a swindler. He had a big roll of money (actually it was a big roll of fake money wrapped in a one dollar bill) and his scam was to ask directions to the nearest phone saying that he had to make an important call and, while he was making the call, could my boy hold onto his bag. Then he'd say, "Here, I'll give you twenty bucks to hold this big wad of dollar bills for me too." My boy thought that was just great. Then the guy would suggest that my boy give him (the con) twenty bucks instead, as an assurance that my boy wouldn't run off with the con's bag and big wad of bills, and that when he (the con) would give my boy the twenty when he gpt back from the phome call. Once the con had my boy's twenty, he'd fuck right off. What my boy had was a roll of paper and a two bit bag. I busted that up real quick and then proceeded to watch the guy hit his next victim. But the detectives were watching too and they busted him. I talked to the detectives later and they showed me what it was he was up to.

Dallas is the busiest terminal, then St Louis. Have your son pay attention to the announcements regarding bus changes and luggage transfers and he'll do just fine. If he books his tickets in adavanc, he he can go anywhere in the States for 69 dolars, I think. Check it out at Greyhound.
