a rampage

Posted by porceleindoll on June 19, 2002 at 20:06:01:

I vented this morning to someone I was writing:

The somewhat unfortunate thing that happens when young people leave the group is they sort of drift, unless they have support from their parents and a place to go. We have a whole group of them in Osaka who have gotten into the mafia, drugs, night life, night work, witchcraft. I hesitate to look down on it, and I don't, that's their choice of life, but on the other hand, I wish they would do a little more with themselves cause they could. On the other hand I highly blame the group and their parents for their lives as well. These kids are Japanese, but were raised in an English atmosphere, they received a minimal education at best, and have no degrees to show for it. At the age of 16 or 17, when they should be going to school, doing part-time work for their pocket money, and living the life of a normal teen, they are working full-time in one of the few jobs they can get that doesn't require either education, degree or language ability. They can't really move to the States cause they aren't American, so they are stuck. Their parents abandoned them so they could continue their "high calling" in the group, and the kids are left on the streets to fend for themselves. And by the time they get a little older, it's too late, they've developed habits that are going to be very hard to break, and it really pisses me off. Of course, there is always a way to make your life better, always a way out of a bad situation, but I don't fully blame those kids for the situation they are in. One has committed suicide, (I wrote about it on Movingon), one is on the run for murder, a few are in jail for drug selling and stuff, one guy just went beserk and stole a car, ran over 2 people and is in jail for I don't know how long. And almost all these guys are Jetts that were in my care at the HCS (where did I go wrong??)

Not all are so badly off, some have found decent work, some have found great work. But what about the ones who didn't? Who cares for them? Instead, SR people like *** make all sorts of excuses as to why the Family isn't responsible for them, bullshit! Here I am on a rampage, sorry about that!
