selfishness is a part of our genetic make-up and everyone needs to be somewhat selfish or human kind would cease to exist. In the F. we were taught that being selfish was akin to being the devil. We had to be selfless to get God's blessings. I now realize that that is completely impossible and an unreasonable thing to ask of people. We may as well have been asked to hike half way around the world covered in cacti!!! You can see why people coming out of the F. are totally frustrated and trying to come to terms with these things they spent years banging their heads against the wall trying to accomplish. So, all that to say that we all need to be a at least somewhat selfish and thinking about ourselves in order to succeed and be responsible individuals. So, I concur, it's ok to be a little egotistical - just don't get like Berg - he took it to the extreme.
