That's a pretty simplistic viewpoint

And for a smart man like you, appallingly limited. I would wager that there are a lot more exmembers that have lives very similar to you. I've been to court, maybe not over multi-million dollar contracts, but over landlord issues and also to testify in a shooting and various other issues. I have a pretty full life with lots of experiences and friends from all walks of life.

There are plenty of people with experiences wide and varied and I fail to see how people are reacting to you simply because they think you are "different" - how silly. No, rather they are reacting because of your gall-like ignorance on a subject you clearly do not know enough about though you act like an expert. The fact that you can point out the stupidity of the F. and their bad and nearly criminal doctrines is simple enough and should not surprise you that exmembers would agree with you.

That is not to your credit, Joseph, in spite of your loooong list of impressive credentials. If I was to chose a therapist to help me through COG/FOL issues, I would avoid you like a hot potatoe. Not because I dislike you or think little of you (sounds pretty low on the self-confidence scale if you ask me) but because of your lack of grasp of the subject. The fact that you publically accuse people of being cult-like proves that point to me. This has absolutely nothing to do with someone being "different."
