It's kind of funny, but it almost sounds verbatim where many of us oldsters were at before we met the F. We hated religion and we hated the hypocricy we saw in the churches. But we were searching and unfortunately, see where it led us. I now believe that each person needs to find his own road and not depend on anyone else to find it for them or follow them. I've seen people leave horrendous cults and fall into another one.

I no longer try to steer people in a certain direction as far as beliefs go. I figure that my life should speak for itself and that alone should show people what I believe and they can go from there. The western world that we live in has been saturated with the bible and Christianity - it's not like anyone doesn't know what the bible says. However, there is a place for that and I have seen people with a genuine heart help others in their Christian walk and it has been very beneficial for them all.

I agree completely, there people should be free of self-loathing as you call it - I call it guilt which the F. and Berg in particular laid heavy on us. It's one reason I can't read the bible, I see guilt written all over the pages and Berg's interpretations. These people are spiritual abusers and they raped us in the spirit. It's good to learn your own beliefs using the God-given common sense we all have. Thanks for putting your thoughts down here.
