As the years went on the insanity of the Family's "truth" and Berg's stupid rages made me question Berg and step back a few paces. I needed to question him but had no information to judge what he said by except for the Bible. So that's what I used, and 'mene mene tekel upharsin' Berg was weighed in the balances and found wanting. I realized that the so-called "pure Christianity" of the Family was harsh, unloving, and way out to left field.
I didn't see a lot of the heavy-handed abuse that others saw, or that would've been more of contributing factor too. But what insanity I did see was enough to make me start questioning.
