1Cor. 4:2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
We are responsible for we are given. Unlike what some people think who want to justify tithing, we don't loose responsibility over what its given to us as stewards when we give it to some one else's.
Also the parables of the talents. Even when the servants gave to others, it was to bring forth fuit and the responsibility was still theirs to see to that.
The idea of tithing may have been a good way to help spread expenses at a reaching outpost but still does not take away the individual responsibility of original stewardship. Original stewards must be involved in the disbursement process with voice and vote, otherwise they are not being good stewards.
