Do you know what the Catholic church says?

I read recently that either the pope or some cardinal or somebody stated that abortion was a worse sin than child sexual abuse! Can you believe it? They are more concerned about an egg that is developing than a child being abused. I was shocked when I read that. I think that a child that is born, outside of the mother's womb, breathing on its own, has more rights to be protected. An infant is totally dependent on its parents and is subject to whatever they unleash on that innocent life. I think it's the Catholic church's excuse and a way of getting out of their deep doo-doo that they are in. Wow - the heart of man is wicked all over.
