PD, thanks so much for posting this.

It brought tears to my eyes. I am still living with the damage my 2 daughters went through, and some of it is similar to your story.
One of my daughters had a suicide attempt in 1996 and has been suicidal and prone to deep depressions since her early teens. The details of her story are pretty horrific as well. I am still hoping to bring to justice one of the perpetrators.

I know how much strength it takes to LIVE with something like this, day in and day out, for the victims and the ones who are close to them. When it is somebody you care for and love, a sibling, a daughter/son, it is harder than going through it myself. (I also have lots of scars and unresolved issue in that area) My daughters' stories are documented in social workers, therapists and psychiatrists files. If most people who have suffered and keep suffering the result of these crimes could keep speaking up, or their advocates for that matter, since they often have very little strength to keep reliving the trauma, then slowly a pool of cases would build up and it would be possible to make connections among this vast web of abuse, that did NOT happen only in 'isolated cases' because there was protection for it, given the secret nature of the organization.

I wish your cousin and the courageous people involved in this story all the best and honor their courage to survive in the face of adversity.
Accountability is a real thing. Let us all help make it real.
