We've had plenty of cats, but I'm still not a cat lover. I love my furniture too much. Seriously, I prefer dogs. It's nice not having any cats around, hair balls, kitty litter, smells, all that stuff. AND walking on counters. But you have a lot of outdoors, doesn't he go outdoors?
