What was crappy

In spite of the good stuff of some kids getting off of drugs or finding a purpose, or finding Jesus, there was enough crappy stuff to consitute some serious abuse issues. Even if just spiritual abuse and/or emotional abuse, there was still abuse. I think we were too young, naive and ignorant to have realized this. So we went along happily thinking we were fanatics for Jesus and being so proud about it. What a pride trip. The crappy stuff was the way our whole lives were controlled, no one could do anything without leadership permission and we were made to believe we were too young and stupid to hear from God ourselves, they had to hear for us and interpret for us. That was wrong and will always be wrong, there is no making that right. That was used against our better interests, it wasn't used for us. Cutting people off from family and friends is wrong. Telling people who they should marry is wrong. I personally know several people who were told to marry someone and it nearly ruined their lives. Not to mention the poor children caught up in the mess of it all. Deprivations and hardships are one thing, we can do that for the right reasons, these were the wrong reasons.
