A voice to speak up

That reminds me of when I first left. I was reading the No Longer Children newsletters put out by the Hieberts - they were a God-send to me. There I first tasted the idea of talking back to David Berg through articles by David Hiebert. He even wrote him a letter. He was like a voice I never had and a voice for so many who could not be heard and would not be heard by the heirarchy and Berg himself. Yet, at the same time it felt good, it felt good to find someone speaking up and I could join along. He was like a bell-weather and he woke up what was latent inside of me, what was ready to burst at the seams but I had no voice. When they suddenly folded up shop, I sensed that that voice had been silenced somehow, maybe through lawsuits or threaten of lawsuits since the Cult Awareness Network had been pummulled with frivolous lawsuits and shut down by Scientology lawyers at the same time. Anyway, what you are saying that we did not have a voice is true because we couldn't, there was no one to hear and no one to talk to and the fear was choking us to death. Now we can have a voice and the thought of speaking up is so incredibily liberating we want to shout forever.
