Goth, another thing you said was, "I'm not the piece of shit I was told I was." That's a big issue because that sure as shootin' was what the group taught, that "you're no good." But instead of saying, "You're not good, only God is good" it got to be, "You're no good, only Dad and Mama are good. Oh god, give me the heart of David."

Whether God was used as the crudgel to beat people down, or some fuckin' supposedly holy "David" image, the point was the same, beat the people down so they will submit their minds and let us rule over them. Nail them round pegs into the square holes so long as it suits our purpose. Steal the man's wife or the woman's husband then when they're bawling their eyes out, stick their thumbs in the thumbscrews of submission and get them to learn the lesson of submission. And since they're shitand there's nothing good in them and their heart is desperately evil and wicked, they'll submit.

And we did. One dictator said, "Forget trying to motivate and inspire people. Just grab them by the balls and they'll do what you say." That was about what happened to us in the Family. Or most of us, at least.

Regaining a sense of self-worth is a big part of the recovery process and that's one big reason people feel a need to Berg bash.
