In Calif, there is the Pell Grant and the Cal-Grant and you can get around that amount if you go to a university - but you do have to get good grades and have some other criteria. It would be great to have some resources set up for each state and the links to the government agencies. Maybe that single mom could write up a little article on how she got her grant, step by step - what do you think?
