Here we go again, I don't know if you or anyone in this site has enough data to quantify the pain and greviance thermometor. You're not frieking sociologies and very little data is reliable. Family people just have hardly any studies based on non-biased random methods for professional research. All we can share are subjective experiences. I'm an SGA. I'll give a reason why I feel that SGAs where more vulnerable to abuse. Unless one was "retarded" or really out to lunch out there most people joined with some knowlege of what it's like to live outside the movement. We did not. Our world revolved around our fishbowl and it's water of ideas. At least you guys could smell bull a bit better because you'd lived on the other side before. kids can't leave their parents and don't have the mental capacity to get in touch with authorites if abuse is not that obvious when cults dress up. See where I'm going? I don't mean to be demeaning but what the hell where you guys thinking? You find loving peple and them let them abuse you psychologically by making you do all this crazy nonsense? I guess religious people are used to taking directions and there is power in social conditioning. But just to get my point accross from my perspective... We didn't live the world, you did. I don't blame you ... but I think an adult can walk out a lot easier. (unless kids and family of course are involved... I can see how that get's more tricky... put parental rights are not an issue you can ignore either.) Lot's of family people must have had a low degree of education... I think that's probably the key. Lack of education= More suckers - Critical thinking.
