Yes, I agree with this assessment. There IS such a thing a mind control and while it might not exactly follow Margaret Singer's "freeze-unfreeze" theory, a new persona was foisted upon us. It was still us, but Berg's persona was pressed down into us, and the peer pressure, fear, control was there to make us do what we did.

yes, we often genuinely believed the stuff. Here I disagree with Passing By. He/she feels that it was all peer pressure even though we knew it was wrong. I was a true believer and sincerely thot Berg was Gods' prophet and sincerely believed his doctrines. It was a hard road to realize that he was just a drunk old fart and that his teachings were way, way off kilter.
