You have a precious daughter. I think these things actually make us closer. I was never very close to my dad and I always wanted him to be closer to me. He came from a culture that left child-rearing to women and he rarely showed emotions to us children. I always longed for a dad that would sit me on his knee and read to me. I would never have been able to communicate with him the way you and your daughter communicate. I say you're doing a fine job.
