Now the fundamentalists start saying, "But Jesus bought and paid for us!! We don't own ourslves anymore!" Well, spare me, I'm not interested and I'm posting on gen x.

There is so much truth to the saying "people can't hurt you unless you let them." Eleanor Roosevelt said, "No one can hurt you without your consent."

Of course, that's debatable, as you know some people will say, "you wanna bet people can't hurt you??", and proceed to bang you on your head to prove their point.

Maybe it could be better said, "people can really and truly hurt you deeply, only if you let them." Or like Gandi said, "They cannot take away our self-respect if we do not give it to them."

Our sense of self worth does not depend on anyone's approval, especially not Berg or F. leaders. We can refuse to let Berg (or our past mistakes) own little pieces of our lives, and refuse to let him (our mistakes) continue to have power over us, and to hurt us.

We are who we are because of choices we made yesterday. We chose to let someone have power over our lives, and that is what hurts most. So we made mistakes. Really, in the end, we are just mad at ourselves for being so stupid, and it really helps to give ourselves a break. We can now choose to do something about who we are and make changes, and we can choose our responses to old F. triggers and stimuli. Nothing better than the revenge of truly moving forward to success and happiness, and refusing to let the F. continue to dominate our daily psyche.
