Will try to reply to you on a few things here:
no, mine was not an invitation to go elsewhere (????) - If at all I am very supportive of YOUR position. I know what it is like.

My point was a different one. I was just trying to tell you that while it is GOOD to speak out for one's own rights of expression, it is also good to be REALISTIC about the kind of forum we are in. What can be REALISTICALLY accomplished? What are the limitations/strenght of a given position?

Let me give you an odd example: if you are a smoker with a bunch of non smokers, you will ALWAYS be expected to go OUTSIDE to have a smoke....BUT if you are a non smoker with a bunch of smokers friends, try to find a group where they will ALL go outside to smoke just because it is RIGHT to preserve your health. :) Funny, but true most often. How come?

In my opinion, and there I go again, it is ALL an issue of majority/minority and demographics. If most of the people here were like you (or me for that matter) then we would see different posts, different disclaimers, and different efforts aimed at 'protecting' the 'rights' of expression of certain people. You ONLY have to 'protect' something if the default is set in a way whereby that is NOT protected or appears 'natural', right? :)

In the excog community, anything from Christian all the way to....fundamentalist - on a continuum, of course, -- is typically the so-called 'UNmarked case,' whether that is EXPLICITLY recognized or not.
Everything ELSE, any other form of spirituality is ' marked ' and there are efforts in some places like this board, to protect its expression. However, once there are efforts to protect that expression. From there you can go to very strange places where ppl who are part of the subliminal default then feel they also need to request protection for their expression as well.....it gets very complicated. :)

We could talk a LOT about these things because they are much deeper than many of us can imagine. But pls rest assured that I was only trying to be supportive and conversational, and was not making pointed comments to you.
