Ya know Acheick, you can focus all you want and believe all you want in stepping on your own neck and blaming yourself for getting into the family by choice. Many people do. I, for one, DON'T. Instead, I congratulate myself for getting OUT. That is my perspective and way of viewing it. You can talk to me until you are blue in the face, and perhaps we will never agree. But I post my perspective for my own mental health. See, I don't believe people conciously join a cult or get into a battering situation. That would be insane. I don't think that the vast majority of people that get into something like that are insane. Vulnerable, yes. For many different reasons. Now, having survived it, I am not as vulnerable, but need to be aware that i can transfer that vulnerability into another unhealthy situation. And I have. To get OUT of those, I have to see HOW i got into them into the first place, and how I can then avoid them in the future. That to me is helpful. I sent you an e-mail I got, which I posted by typing it out. It is in the archives. I thought it was excellent regarding the cult dynamics and damages. Did you read it? Can you repost it and say what you think about it?
