Snake a good analogy? Maybe Nazis

I have a bit of trouble with this analogy. I'll admit it does show the complexity of trying to discern between two separate entities which seem to be welded into one, but perhaps a clearer analogy would be the German army at the end of WW2. A snake actually IS a single monolithic entity, meaning to chop off the head is to kill the entire snake. It's not like you can chop off the head and say, "Hey, look! We've liberated the snake's body." (Bear with me please, Passing By.)

But I believe a more accurate comparison is the German army. Sure, all the little drafted German teens and young men were in the army and were fighting for Hitler, but a lot of them didn't even really want to be in the army. They had no choice. But most of the officers did. But when the German army was defeated, then the officers could be rounded up and most of the foot soldiers were simply sent home.

Of course, ours is not a physical war, "the weapons of our warfare are not carnal". (Hey! If our weapons are not carnal, does that mean we're not sending FFers to the Battle of the Bed more? Sorry. Bad joke.) But a few German officers had the right idea: they tried to blow up Hitler.

I think the Family could continue in some form if it wished (just as Germany has continued after the war) but the present leadership has to go, just like Hitler and the ruling Nazi party had to be gotten rid of. Personally, I'd like to see the Family disbanded and the little footsoldiers allowed to go home. They would go thru culture shock, sure, but would that be any worse than the continual shock to their systems each new "revolution" puts them and their families thru?
