I see now that even the F. was such a yankee supremacist hangout. As much as Berg talked about indegenous this and that and cultivating local leadership, there were so many racial undertones. Besides the stuff Berg said against Jews and "blacks" in the Family, American encultralization took place at large. Wherever the F. was, diets and values were dominated by American ones. American or Anglo leadership was always deemed superior in some way, and mostly locals were never truly allowed positions of responsibility but were watched and supervised in co-leadership co-shepherding schemes.
