Not so. I know this from my children when they work at places like fast food, they don't have to file and often they don't because they didn't earn enough to make a difference. Of course, the IRS doesn't care, it doesn't want to have to pay out any money, if even $50. However, the more you make, the more likely YOU have to pay THEM. Then they start caring.
I'll do some checking around. They must have some rules on a website somewhere.
